About the Club
Rules

• Rule #1 is to have fun!
• Membership in the Silver Star Soaring Association is very affordable. The one-time initiation fee for flying members is $500.00.
• The yearly dues for our members are $400.00 which covers maintenance, insurance, airport parking fees for our two aircraft, membership fees in the Silver Star Soaring Association (SSSA), the Soaring Association of Canada (SAC), and the BC Soaring Society (BCSS). 
• Social (non-piloting) members are also encouraged to join us. The social membership dues are $70 per year.
• There are no hourly usage charges for the use of our aircraft by our club members. Flight instruction is provided by our instructors without charge.
• Members do pay their own tow fees. Our members get a preferred per minute rate of tug flight time with the 150 hp Champ. A typical tow might be anywhere from 9 to 22 minutes. (Minute rate flucuates with fuel prices)
• Ground school is provided in the evenings either by Carson Air /Southern Interior Flight Centre in Kelowna at preferred rates for our members.
• Members are encouraged to join us at the airport to ready the aircraft for flight, to retrieve the aircraft or to attend to the flight logs and radio at the base station.

Club Fee's


• Discovery Flight .......$150.00
• SAC members and visiting glider pilots from other countries pay $50.00 per hour plus tow fees (Blanik L13 only with SSSA instructor aboard)
